EARLY ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT

The majority of patients undergoing orthodontic care are children and teens. Your child will benefit from an early evaluation (from 7 years old) by an orthodontist as there could be a problem only an orthodontist can detect, and it is during this time that the teeth are easily moved. Your child may require early interceptive treatment if he/she has the following:

  • Oral habits (finger/thumb sucking)

  • Jaw is significantly disproportionate to the face

  • Baby teeth fall out too soon or too late

  • Exhibits malocclusion (deep bite, crossbite, prominent upper teeth)

  • An embarrassing appearance causing social issues
